Hard to Let Go of Love - A Poem

A Poem I wrote a long time ago...
It's hard to let go of someone you love
It takes more then a push, more then a shove
Because when you give up a piece of your heart
Having him leave will just tear you apart
I know that it hurts, and I know why you cry
I know why you feel like your dying inside
He lied to you, girl, and he played with your mind!
He yelled and abused you, used words so unkind
Yet you let him come back, gave him more of your heart
Now your crying and hurting and falling apart
Love yourself first, then you would realize
All that fighting and fussing is a waste of your time
Treat yourself right, make him do the same
Don't fight other women girl, he is to blame
Hold your head high, look him straight in the eyes
Tell him "Baby, I'm steppin, don't you dare look surprised!"
Then walk out that door, don't you ever look back
Don't let a man hit you, you deserve respect
